TECHNICAL WRITING AT A GLANCE

WHAT IS TECHNICAL WRITING?

It’s the transmission of technical information by writing, where one is the gap between the product and the users/manufacturers.

IT'S DIVERSE FORMS

It exists in different forms, including the following most common forms:

  1. End-User Documentation,
  2. Traditional Technical Writing,
  3. Technical Marketing Communications, and

one could either take it as a fulltime career or be freelancing; with the most popular being:

  1. Open-Source Contributions, and
  2. Writing personal articles.

Skills needed for Technical Writing include:

  1. Research
  2. Audience perception
  3. Technical skills
  4. Writing.

MY CURRENT TRACK IN THE ADA PROGRAM AND THREE OTHER CAREER PATHS IN TECH

I belong to the MOBILE APP FLUTTER track in the ADA program, and I have learnt a lot in the few weeks that I have spent in the program, including writing codes on the Dart console and will soon be introduced to the Flutter language; as we are currently working on a group project.

Three other career paths in Tech, include:

  1. Product Management
  2. Frontend and
  3. Data Analysis.
